Formatting a Hard Drive
in Windows XP

Formatting a hard drive in a machine with several hard drives is best done using the following steps if you are using Windows XP:

1. Right click MY COMPUTER and select the MANAGE feature
    

2. Go to STORAGE and double click DISK MANAGEMENT
    

3. Select the drive you wish to format in the upper frame, right click and select FORMAT.
    

4. Rename the drive you are formatting as you see fit and grab a cup of coffee. Of course it goes without saying that the entire contents of the drive will be eliminated which means to backup the drive ahead of time.
