(This online store specializes in storage solutions and offers great prices.  As an example, a 2 GB compact flash memory card cost $285 in August 2004 including Fed-Ex overnight versus $230 for just 1 GB at a local big box store.  As an observation, in July 2007 (three years later) that same 2GB card is now priced at $38.89 -- WOW!)

Speakeasy.net Speed Test
(This web site allows you to check download and upload speeds throughout a variety of North American locations.  It also displays your IP Address should you ever need to reference it for configuration purposes.)

Testmy.net
(This simple web-based utility will allow you to test the download and upload speed of your Internet connection.  This tool is a real help before you embark on any download of size.  Remember also that your speed will vary widely throughout the day. Once on the page, select SmarTest™ to have the service select the right test for you.)

FlashGet
(FlashGet is a freebie download utility whose default setting downloads as many as 10 files simultaneously and resumes the download if it's disrupted midstream by, say, a browser or PC crash. This kind of tool is a must if you are downloading a very large file (say a printer driver) and you don't want it corrupted or broken.)

Dafont
(This website offers hundreds of free fonts for downloading.  What is most helpful is the ability to type in a word and see what the word looks like in the font before going to the trouble of downloading, installing and then trying out the font.)
