Search Engines

Over years of doing Internet research, Cornerstone is convinced that using a variety of search engines is a better way of getting better answers.  Here are our favorites.

MetaCrawler®
(The search engine of search engines and hence the new word 'metasearch'.)

About.com
(This i 'human-powered' search engine  is sorted into 23 channels and real human 'guides' have done the work for you!)

AnyWho Telephone Directory
(AT&T's comprehensive residential, business, toll free and international telephone directory. Map links.)

Ask
(This is a powerful, plain language search engine that in its early days featured  Jeeves as the eager-to-please English butler.)

Answers.Com
(This search engine is really an answer engine built around a tool bar.  It seems to work very well and can also be used without downloading the tool bar.)

Google
(By far the Internet's most popular, Cornerstone uses Google's toolbar on top of IE7.  Check out the tutorials.)

HotSheet
(This rather plain looking page is full of links sorted into helpful categories.)

Open Directory Project
(The ODP bills itself as the largest, most comprehensive human-edited directory on the Web. ODP is maintained by a global community of volunteer editors.)

Telephone Area Code Finder
(Wondering where you are calling or what Area Code goes with what California city?)
